Avantages

Paid decent for the position

Inconvénients

Very anti employee. Basically minimal benefits “could you imagine? We would be taken advantage of if we gave better benefits”. No trust in you and always treat you like you are out to cheat them, so they track your gps, on your phone and vehicle, and micromanage every move you make throughout your day. If you get 2 mins of overtime you’re called out for a full explanation. OT is totally unacceptable to them. You can only clock in and out at your scheduled time, to the min or less, never a min over. It was made very clear that they would prefer paying less time than you work than to pay for the time you are there. Only once was I paid for 40 hours, after being reprimanded for 3 mins of overtime, I was getting 37.5 hours to 39.9, just to make sure I didn’t go over 8 per day (their overtime is calculated on an 8 hour day, so 8hours 1 min, you got over time). Never have I seen such a big deal over this, not just for me, but for everyone. In other words, make sure you’re clocked out exactly 8hours or less after you clock in. You work until the day is done, but everything over 8 hours is off the clock. Ironically found out they refuse to pay contractors for work they do. But people who are paranoid you’re taking advantage of them are usually taking advantage of every they can.

Avantages

Cool industry in a great location (mammoth); a decent opportunity if you want to live in a ski town for a season (good luck getting time off though)

Inconvénients

Rude managers, lack of structure, micromanagement (they track you on your company phone), decent pay but they don’t let you take any time off during ski season at all. A lot of unhappy customers which makes customer engagement awkward (I’ve been yelled at). Lots of property turnover
