      Reasonable salary and friendly environment

      Inconvénients

      Poor, disappointing and irresponsible human resource management. They keep hiring new designers ‘just in case’ someone quits. When they realize that they’ve hired too many people, with too little projects to work on, they just send them home without giving any notice ahead. They are basically saying: ‘Sorry, we hired you but then we found out that we don’t need you anymore. Go deal the rest of the problem by yourself, BYEEE!’ Very irresponsible the way they handle this kind of situation. Very disrespectful to their employees. Funny thing is, they don’t seem to think it’s their fault; as quoted from my supervisor—‘Blame the client, don’t blame us.’ BE AWARE when you consider this company, might just be a scam. Don’t let this company ruin your career planning, totally not worth it.

      Thank you for sharing your experience on Glassdoor and via email in advance. We thank you for your service and wish you well in your future endeavors. We would like to note for the record that this individual was hired as a temporary employee, not as a contractor, and worked with us in our office for just over two weeks. We carefully select our temporary employees from a strong pool of qualified candidates in direct response to upcoming work, and we have a long standing practice of selecting permanent staff from those temporary employees. Unfortunately, in rare cases, clients' needs change and work commitments are cancelled or significantly delayed. Such severe changes affect our ability to support the additional staff.

      Avantages

      Culture is fantastic, very welcoming, and makes new contractors feel at home very quickly. The project leads are great at clearly communicating workload expectations, deadlines, and any fires or complications that pop up. Contractors are an integral part of the team and are treated like humans, not assets.

      Inconvénients

      Ambitious events/campaigns are extreme time commitments and while overtime is expected and compensated fairly, it can still become overwhelming.

      Avantages

      I was approached by Sarah on LinkedIn about an opportunity to join the Modicum team. Every single email and phone conversation was friendly and welcoming. I 1st had a phone interview and then an in person interview that lasted about 2 hours. I met with the President + 3 others in Senior Management. I was offered the position about a week later, and was thrilled to have been given the offer! Since Day 1 at Modicum, the team has been warm, friendly, and welcoming; senior management has been highly engaged and offered incredible on-boarding + support; the office culture is laid back, nerdy, and fun -- we've had happy hours on Fridays, summer Fridays, donuts on Fridays (all things that I love!) The work/life balance is incredible, and I love coming into work every day!

      Inconvénients

      I honestly can't think of any cons!
