Avantages
- The field is interesting (KYC) - The technical side is challenging - Some talented coworkers (attracted by false promises, most of them already left)
Inconvénients
- In most countries, they hire full time employees as contractors. They make promises about more permanent setups, relocation, stock options, etc. Spoiler : they are never fulfilled. They fire people when they become inconvenient (50 people just fired for economical reasons, some had been working for multiple years and were left off for political reasons, others were fired one day before their stock options’ cliff period for no reason, etc.) - VPs care only about one thing : controlling their own narrative, even if it means changing the truth. Feedback and transparency will get you fired. - More than 50% of employees are contractors, not full time employees. As a result, very few people actually care about the product. Some people work their very hard while others literally do nothing, with absolutely no correlation in the compensation (in other words, don’t expect to be rewarded for hard work) - Product’s quality is bad compared to competitors. Lack of focus and strategy is not very reassuring.
