This is a terrible, terrible place to work. - Avis employé Actuarial Analyst Mercer

Avantages

Pay is ok, but still below market average. Good benefits, including health/dental/life and a very good 401(k). PTO is pretty solid as well (3 weeks I believe).

Inconvénients

This company is a complete madhouse. Way too many people "playing the game," which leads to a lot of wasted time and work being done inefficiently. Corporate politics couldn't be running more rampant. Inadequate leaders everywhere; rose to management simply because they've endured the absurd turnover rate. Constant ducking and dodging from senior consultants results in analysts being overworked. Training needs to be better and longer. Not many people here are genuine, due to the cold environment and culture that has festered at this company. Employees are thrown in the fire from day one and are acknowledged as "experts"; being expected to know how to do a lot of very complicated work without the knowledge base to actually succeed. Hardly anyone in an office comes to work on a regular basis (a lot of "work from home" kind of people). Company sets inflated goals and when revenue doesn't meet the inflated goal, management leverages this to withhold raises and bonuses. Funny how the company "didn't do well" yet the MMC stock price goes up. Funny how raises were minimal despite massive savings from freezing the pension plan. Just overall a place you want to avoid - do not put yourself through the mental stress of working at this terrible, terrible place.

Avantages

Remote flexibility, which is nice.

Inconvénients

You will not get a raise and if you do, it'll be 1%. Managers will not help you with escalating issues, you're on your own. It'll be blamed on you. You'll work so much overtime you won't have a social life.
