They don't want to pay sr engineers a salary that fits their resume leading to good sr engineers leaving or they put people in the sr engineer role that aren't qualified. If another leader has differing opinions, then they are cut out of leadership and either put in a minimal role or are asked to leave the company. Sr leadership holds their influence tightly and if another leader with differing opinions gets too much influence, their role is significantly reduced. This has happened on multiple separate occasions at different levels of leadership The CEO had big promises that I was so hopeful for and believed so much in.
