- Typical large corporate problems - Tenure matures more than output - Certain departments mostly contain dinosaurs (old employees waiting for retirement) - Highly regulated sector - particularly because of SA environment - High starting salary but reluctant to promote / increase pay unless you move internally / manager leaves. - Base pay operates on a "carrot" basis. Pay becomes primarily long term incentive + bonus base. Not much flexibility in this regard.
