Avantages
You get to learn how to handle daily testing and gmp documentation. It gets you familiar with common wet Chem techniques that aren’t to complicated. The days are generally fast paced supporting a manufacturing line. A very good place to consistently get basic techniques on entry level tests along with HPLC techniques once you get trained on that.
Inconvénients
A lot of inexperience. Management won’t put in as much as you are asked to put in. Saturday work occasionally. High turnover. Low pay. Was frequently told you are a Chemist 1 doing responsibilities a Chemist 2 would but paid at the low end of the former. Shared computers. Being a QC chemist for a manufacturing plant gets very repetitive and uninteresting.
