      Avantages

      Good department for acquiring fire and EMS experience. Management is generally not scrutinizing or overbearing.

      Inconvénients

      Work-life balance for guys that ride the ambulance is minimal. You will be awake for the majority of 24 hrs if you work at a busy station, and you're on the ambulance for that shift. EMS at this capacity is grueling. New recruits and guys with <5 years experience get treated horribly by more senior guys. Antiquated "traditions" take precedence over acting like an adult. Hazing is predominant and rampant.

      Exciting, good pay, physically active and lots of choices on who you work with.

      Inconvénients

      The pension can’t be trusted and the promotion system has shown some signs of corruption.
