Avantages
Interning at AIP is one of the most beneficial experiences I have had for my career. The Job: During my time there, every intern was free to put as much effort as they want to in any part of their job that they want. There was a minimum limit of work everyone had to do, no ones allowed to slack off too much. But you could always do more. Always. If you wanted to. I personally have not heard of a work place that gives such opportunities to interns where they can actually put their hand in everything and do multiple things. And subsequently explore their strengths as well as weaknesses. AIP has a work environment that more work you do + more effort you put in =more you learn. AIP gives you the opportunity to learn as much as 'YOU WANT' or are willing to learn. Work environment: Everyone's really friendly. In the whole office there's always music playing which always creates a pleasant vibe. There are no lunch hours, you can eat whenever you want. But everyone is smart enough to respect the working hours so they don't spend 4 hours on lunch. Everyone is friends with everyone, and there are occasional gatherings outside of the office which make the work force bond stronger, which also results in a productive and fun work environment. Hierarchy: There is none. Well there is on paper and with official titles. But the feeling the bosses/supervisors have created is so friendly that you don't see your boss and see a higher ranked person, you just see a friend. There is still a level of respect maintained. I was working directly under Simon Osborne who is the Global Relations Director of AIP. He was overseeing the interns but mostly he let the interns work how they want. Promoting creativity, this management style is one of the best I have come across. Personally Simon is the main reason for the office environment. From music to the funny jokes, this man has created a very fun friendly and productive work environment. In my interview he told me "This internship is not about how much we can get from you, rather it's, how much can you get out from us". This shows the "helping" nature of AIP. I am forever grateful for this opportunity. And I hope whoever is reading this is lucky enough to get this opportunity too!
Inconvénients
Nobody will micromanage you at AIP. Its important to be independent and decisive with you decisions. AIP is not recommended for people who need help constantly.
