Avantages
Very good benefits, very generous healthcare, work from home policy
Inconvénients
Very poor management. Managers are selected haphazardly, without screening, and given basic training on people skills by semi-qualified consultants after they are promoted. Managers don't have time to supervise and know what their directs are doing, so managers often just check off a job as done without evaluating the quality of the work. Getting qualified people from outside or internally can take months, so employees are often put into positions they're not qualified to hold. Communication is strictly one-way, from the top down. Performance evaluations were done for a few years, but were not mandatory and never seemed to be used, so directors only know what their managers want them to know. Appearances are everything. People agree to deadlines they know they can't meet because they don't want to look bad, then deadlines get pushed out. This is a dysfunctional environment. Don't stay more than a few years. Start working on your exit strategy as soon as you come in.
