You are not working at a consulting firm, you are working for a temp/staff augmentation firm and you will be laid off 15 seconds after they can no longer bill others for hours of your life. Do not fall for any of their recruiter's lies that they are 'project-based'. They are a body shop, and when they cannot bill a client for your time, your options are very limited and it would be an excellent time to brush up the resume and get it out there. There is no career path per se, and even the managers I had when I was there (2002-2007) have moved on to other opportunities.
