Learning resources, some partner discounts

Inconvénients

While this company presents an initial appeal with access to learning resources, the reality for many employees is a deeply unsettling experience marked by inconsistent compensation, questionable advancement practices, and pervasive job insecurity. The most concerning aspects revolve around a culture where performance often takes a backseat to factors that remain opaque and seemingly arbitrary. The disparity in salaries is frankly shocking. Significant differences in compensation are commonplace, creating a palpable sense of inequity and undermining morale. It’s clear that initial salary negotiation holds undue weight, leaving many employees struggling to achieve fair parity with their peers – regardless of experience, qualifications, or demonstrable contributions. This creates an environment where hard work and dedication feel undervalued. The influence of Human Resources is another source of profound concern. Decisions regarding promotions and opportunities appear driven by factors beyond objective performance metrics, fostering a climate of distrust and leaving many feeling powerless to advance their careers based on merit. The perception that personal relationships outweigh professional achievement is deeply disheartening. Even the company’s attempts at employee development feel hollow. A mandated self-development program consumes a significant amount of time (45-65 hours annually), yet completion yields little tangible reward or recognition. It feels less like an investment in individual growth and more like a bureaucratic exercise, further reinforcing the disconnect between stated values and actual practices. Perhaps most troubling is the precariousness of job security. Project retention and contract stability are consistently unreliable. Reassignments and workforce reductions occur with alarming frequency, often without any attempt at internal placement – particularly for those who don't seem to fit an undefined mold. This creates a constant undercurrent of anxiety and uncertainty, leaving employees feeling disposable and vulnerable. The lack of loyalty from the company is deeply demoralizing. Ultimately, this is a place where talent can be stifled, dedication unrewarded, and trust eroded by a system that prioritizes factors other than genuine performance and employee well-being.

Avantages

- Standard benefits - Depending on the team you're on, can be a relatively easygoing environment - Ample vacation time, generally readily approved

Inconvénients

- Far, FAR below market wage - No yearly raises or even discussion. With inflation, I'm making less now than I did previously. - Zero room for advancement (see below) - You can be a superstar for the client but that translates into no actual benefits pay or promotion wise at Capgemini - they're entirely unrelated. - My manager basically forgot I exist for over a year which means no discussion about performance, promotion, raises, etc - Opaque processes around pay, promotion, etc - Come here if you want your career and paycheck to stagnate and die - Zero appreciation or acknowledgement from the Capgemini team with the client - there's no carrot and stick, just the stick. No real reason to go above and beyond.
