Company to Avoid at All Costs - A Pre-Seed Stage Management Style While Aiming for Series B
Avantages
- Driven and competent junior to mid-level team members (strong collaboration among peers and mid-level staff, which is what's saving the business)
Inconvénients
- Terrible Management and Onboarding: The onboarding roadmap and objectives were drafted by my manager's manager, not my actual line manager. This highlighted the top-down decision to hire for my role, which was never truly supported by the line manager. Additionally, catch-ups with my line manager were scheduled during the company’s all-hands meetings and always demonstrated a complete lack of consideration for my scope. - Overlooked Sustainability and Constantly Tasked Outside My Scope: I was hired to oversee CSR but was assigned to and judged on unrelated LinkedIn post drafts, despite the availability of in-house resources for social media. Feedback was nonexistent, and I received no constructive criticism while I willingly supported tasks outside my scope. - Lack of Willingness to Improve: Raylo promotes itself as a B Corp committed to ethical practices, but my experience revealed a disconnect between these values and actual management. The poor communication I encountered was concerning and could harm future employees, as it did for me. I raised my concerns with HR, but I doubt any meaningful action will be taken.
