Avantages
IE University isn’t the worst place to work at but it certainly isn’t the best. It will completely depend on your manager and teammates of course. Some teams were a delight to work with. You’ll enjoy state of the art infrastructure: the IE Tower is new, one enters the building through facial recognition (no escaping it), the Athletic Center facilities are great. There are some nice events or training now and then to attend to, which you can’t really, given the busy workday you’ll have.
Inconvénients
Expect a faced paced environment, a lot of last minute work, and little to no recognition. It is a university that welcomes undergraduates from everywhere, posh demanding kids for the most part. However the work ethic and mentality is very American. If you’re not ready to work a lot, ignore problems and put on a plastered smile on your face 24/7...maybe this isn’t the place for you. To this day there are no lunch tickets or mandatory heath insurance offered to staff, the Do Eat cafeteria is all glossy and nice but expensive for the very low salary you’re paid at such a reputable institution. Only one day of working from home, for the lucky ones who don’t have a controlling boss. Very little training in your first weeks, expect an overload of information as you learn on the spot the new processes AND the new names, due to the huge turnover in staff.
