Management have yet to integrate the legacy S&W and Tilney businesses, which have different investment processes, front office systems, onboarding processes and remuneration structures (S&W is far more generous). EP continues to operate with inefficient and outdated front and back office systems and the PE owners are unwilling to invest in the business. Due to the remuneration structure the focus is on AUM growth (in order to maximise the return for the owners) rather than client service/returns.
