Avantages

Most of the colleagues are amazing and modern offices

Inconvénients

This company desperately needs new leadership far more than it needs to keep churning through employees. The CEO and upper management create a deeply toxic environment ruled by fear, micromanagement, and petty punishment instead of actual guidance or trust. Leadership feels completely lost — issuing vague, unrealistic demands like "leverage AI to do x10, x100, x1000 productivity" without any coherent plan. It's pure fantasy that demoralizes everyone and the word that is used for this non-sense is Velocity. Instead of fostering any real "company spirit," management chooses punitive tactics: silently stripping away perks the moment someone falls out of favor, or worse, smiling and acting friendly in meetings/public channels while firing off unprofessional, vicious, and completely unjustified private messages tearing people down. It's two-faced cowardice at its worst — rude, unfair, and deeply personal attacks that achieve nothing except breeding resentment and driving good people out. Aiming for high standards is one thing; demanding impossible perfection in an unrealistic pressure cooker is another. Ruling by fear and constant criticism never builds great teams — it destroys them. Basic common sense: treat people with basic respect, focus on positives, give constructive feedback, and align everyone around shared realistic goals. Until leadership figures that out (or gets replaced), this place will continue hemorrhaging talent and under-delivering on its big AI dreams. Save yourself the stress — look elsewhere.

"Velocity" reflects a commitment to moving with purpose in a fast-evolving market, not unrealistic expectations. We have structured performance reviews, and when someone is not meeting expectations, they are placed on a performance improvement plan with clear goals and support to help them succeed. This is standard practice at any professionally run organization, and we believe it is both fair and transparent. Many of our team members have been with us for several years, continue to grow alongside the company, and have voted Alohi a Great Place to Work for consecutive years. We're proud of that and remain committed to earning it every day.

Avantages

Supportive and talented colleagues who make the daily work environment enjoyable. Fun moment at lunch time ! Opportunities to grow and take on (small) responsibilities , given the small company size.

Inconvénients

Constant micromanagement: every detail has to be reported, leaving employees with little autonomy or trust. Leadership lacks consistency and often changes direction without clear communication, which creates confusion and instability. High turnover makes it difficult to build continuity and increases workload for those who remain. Poor internal communication and limited transparency in decision-making. The management shows a lack of empathy toward employees who are unwell, often making them feel guilty for taking sick leave. In this company, it is mandatory to speak only English throughout the day. Speaking any other language with colleagues (even during lunch break) is strictly forbidden.

Modern and clean offices – Comfortable and attractive workspace environment. Talented colleagues – You get to work with skilled, intelligent, kind and often overqualified people. Exposure to startup dynamics – Opportunity to see how a small tech company operates day-to-day Location in Geneva – Central location, convenient for commuting and networking locally. Initial sense of excitement – At first, the company gives the impression of being fast-moving and innovative.

Inconvénients

Toxic atmosphere of fear and distrust – People feel observed, judged, and uncomfortable expressing themselves. Extreme micromanagement – No autonomy; even small decisions are questioned and controlled and changed from one day to the next. Lack of clear expectations – Goals and roles are vague, leading to confusion and frustration. Unstable leadership and direction – Priorities change frequently without strategy or explanation. High turnover and emotional pressure – Hiring and firing happen quickly, destroying morale and trust among teams. Favoritism of long term friends-employees.

Decisions are made by owners who are accountable for them, input is encouraged, and we plan with the long term in mind. As we continue to grow, we've also brought in experienced senior managers across teams to further strengthen leadership, structure, and coordination. - Ways of working and accountability: The company emphasizes focus, responsibility, and clarity of execution. Team members own their work and are trusted to make decisions within their scope. We highly respect privacy and encourage initiative, and people are judged on their output, not monitored on their every move. - Team stability and collaboration: We continue to rely on a highly capable, engaged, and collaborative team. Most of our team members have been with us for several years, and we're committed to setting clear expectations and supporting people's growth. Knowledge sharing, peer learning, and teamwork remain central to how work gets done at Alohi.
