Tell me the difference between a layer 2 and a layer 3 network.

layer 2 MAC address which is represented in 6 bytes and is physical addressing it sends data like frames to physical layer and error correction and detection takes places with checksum , were as layer 3 is IP address were data from layer 4 is encapsulated and send as Datagrams to layer 2 here the source and destination checks their IP address peer to peer and this is logical addressing . It only performs checksum.
