I first document the requirements of the process, looking at similar processes in the facility to close the holes. The requirements include inputs, outputs and controls as well as internal and external factors. The basic design of the process would be reviewed with stakeholders, including potential operators, maintenance and management. After this review, I create a detailed design, working with engineering as needed, Iterating the design with appropriate reviews.
