How would I handle a difficult client?

I would first LISTEN to the client - let steam blow off. Then I would bio-feed back to the client "did I understand them correctly regarding the issue" and what needs to be done. If I personally could not resolve the issue at the time I would let the client know that I will get with my supervisor and get a resolution as soon as possible. I would follow up with making sure that the problem was identified and that client contact information was available.
