I said I would adhere to the protocol the school had in place, ie, warning then phone call home, then parent meeting, etc. I told her, beyond that it is part of my classroom plan to minimize distractions and not give disruptive students too much negative attention, and that I try to keep corrections small and discreet if at all possible.
