I didn't know the term State Management but I knew the concept of it. The asked for some elaboration and the interviewer was kind enough to walk me through the process and finally reach the answer that I already knew. He told me that you would use the @Transactional in Monolithinc architecture and how would you divide this in Microservices. So I told him about the Saga Design Pattern and this was exactly what he was asking about.
