I applied for an editorial role. Once the hiring manager initially made contact, we arranged a time when I would take a 90-minute edit test. The team then reached out to me for an in-person interview, during which I met with several editors in two groups. I also spoke with the HR rep. One week later, I emailed the HR rep to ask if there were any updates. A week and a half after no reply, I reached out to the hiring manager, who responded later that day that they were going with another candidate. It's fine that it didn't work out, but I was irritated that I had to reach out (twice) to get a response after taking the time to complete a test and go into the office.
