I find it difficult to put into words how bad it actually is to work here! The staff at the bottom of the career ladder are the ones that run the business and are totally under valued, massively underpaid and treated absolutely disgustingly, nothing is ever good enough! Before I started yorktest I was promised a high bonus hence why I accepted the extremely low salary... it's been 3 years and I am yet to see a penny! There is absolutely no room for progression they just tell you there is and then when it gets down to the nitty gritty and you ask about it there is always an excuse as to why you can't progress even though you are doing the equivalent of 3 senior people's jobs! Yorktest pride themselves on the 'company culture' quite frankly this is an embarrassing claim how can you have a company culture when management don't even follow it?

Avantages

Literally not one single positive experience or benefit of working in that company, the management is absolutely toxic.

Inconvénients

Expect serious burnout, a healthy dose of sexism, your opinions being utterly dismissed. There is a reason why the majority of the reviews on here are so negative - take heed and only work at this company if you absolutely need to and find yourself desperately looking for a job. Anything less than that is simply not worth the cost you'll pay in mental and physical health. It is a toxic and dismissive environment and the staff turnover is extremely high, people do not last long in that company.

Avantages

Some of the staff are nice and good to work with

Inconvénients

The company is ran by two accountants whose only focus is making money. They will make scientific decisions based on what makes them the most money instead of listening to the advice of the scientists. There is no HR department because they would rather do it themselves than spend money on HR so again, all their decisions based around HR are based on saving money, rather than treating staff correctly. They’ve already had previous cases of unfair dismissal against them but they clearly haven’t learnt their lesson. A lot of reviews online come from the senior management, and they encourage staff to make fake reviews so that the company looks better online than it actually is. Please don’t waste your time and energy working for these as at some point they will make sure they screw you over to save a bit of money.
