Avantages
Some really great people who deserve more than they get
Inconvénients
- Managers will not hesitate to throw team members who are not the "favourites" under the bus when things go wrong or clients are unhappy - They will not hesitate to pick your brains or hear your ideas in a meeting and before you have a chance to hang up, an email goes out often with you on copy, communicating your thoughts, ideas, solutions to everyone including higher ups, as though it has come from them. No shame, senior managers are all about elevating themselves and coming out glowing to their bosses - Some senior managers sit in silence during entire meeting, take notes, and then take it to clients or higher ups - never do the work or thinking but great at absorbing information and regurgitating in front of the right people - Rarely give positive feedback even when it's due but will certainly come down on you with negative feedback when it had nothing to do with you or the work was signed off by higher ups - Little to no care about career progression unless a core team member resigns, they they chuck the kitchen sink at them and find someone to point the finger at other than themselves - Accountability NEVER happens - even if you have email proof senior managers will never admit fault or wrongdoing. They think this makes them look good at their job but it creates walls and mistrust with team members who want to work with human beings who can admit to getting it wrong. Take the glory but never take the fall for mistakes or failures - the sign of awful leadership - Micro-managing - Client work is not creative, un-inspiring and un-innovative - Bend over backwards for clients and come down on teams - SO MUCH turnover
