Avantages
- Unity is a small company which means you get to wear a lot of hats. Lots of chances to do things you would never get to do at a large company. Great way to learn lots of different areas.
-Hours are worklife balance, hours are 8am - 4pm! None of my friends have hours like that and we get a paid lunch! Only half-hour but no punching out. Major holidays off, plus floating day off for your "birthday". no mandatory weekends or nights.
-Unity has been in business for almost 100 years now. We still make some of our old products going back to 1940s. It's so cool that they still support those old items and the history around them.
-Location is great. up and coming area near corner of division and clybourn. When I started it was mostly what was left after Cabrini Green towers were torn down. Constant construction now. Theres a Target, Jewel, starbucks, panera all right there and lots of new stuff being built. They have a parking lot for drivers and close to bus stops and Red/Brown line stations for public transit. Tons of cabs on Clybourn if you want one.
- They still manufacture products in downtown Chicago. Machining, Stamping, Chrome plating, buffing/polishing, assembly, wire harness all in house!
Inconvénients
-Unity makes a product that doesn't really have any direct competitors. There is a tendency to rely on that one product at the expense of others. Would be nice to see the line grow.
-Everything is made to order, which is cool on one hand, but means some customers aren't getting items as fast as they would like. Would be nice to stock some high volume items.
