Avantages
When I first started at UMD, the atmosphere was energetic, youthful and positive. The company was positioned for excellent growth and you could feel it; everyone was happy and eager to work and the management was equally eager to demonstrate appreciation for hard-working staff.
Inconvénients
Management has a very reactionary mindset. There are few long-term plans set in place and changes in outlook seem to happen every other month as the landscape shifts. Recent changes in management have placed certain people in positions they are clearly not qualified for, while other managers who achieved great success have moved on. As far as I'm aware, they have done little to no planning for the future, in terms of what they will do when their sole product — USB drives — become completely obsolete. That's another 5-10 years at the very most. Certain members of the management never meet their own deadlines. Projects that are supposed to take one or two months will get stretched out to five or six. A revamping of the branding that was supposed to go live at the end of 2015 did not happen until the middle of 2016. When I was working there, they offered a mere 5 days PTO. That's 5 days total, whether sick or vacation. 5 days per year. Absolutely inexcusable IMO.
