Avantages
The pay, health care benefits, the pension and the stability of the company are hard to match. I am a full time inside hourly worker. I have a college degree and would be hard pressed to find a white collar job with comparable pay and benefits for the amount of time, effort, and stress that is required of me.
Inconvénients
The job tends to be boring as you are doing the exact same thing day after day. The tension between management and the teamsters is a source of frustration as they are often in petty disputes which disrupt the workplace. Individuals whether management or hourly are treated as a cost or liability rather than a potential asset. Management worries more about manipulating production numbers instead of actually trying to run the business better.
