Avantages

The people- TriNet does hire some of the smartest and kindest people. The bad apples weed theirselves out within 3-6 months. Benefits- competitive benefits offerings PTO and holiday- you are given a good amount of time off as well as holiday Life events- when we were in office, once a month there were events with some kind of food brought in.

Inconvénients

Where to begin? We had CORE values we are supposed to live by but are not managed or directed by. When I started you could call another department if you had an issue and get assistance.. that was phased out, you have to create a case and wait 1-? Business days for an answer. There are specific leaders there who prefer the colleagues to be call center reps so they can easily be micromanaged. This is also problematic because every single department might as well be its own separate company, the leaders do not work together so they set rules and regulations for their teams; do not relay these to other leaders and its just expected that each team knows the policies and procedures of the other teams without actually communicating. The poor sales team seems to be completely clueless when it comes to what the internal teams do for clients, which is sad when you realize those are the services they are selling. I watched so many colleagues who were great at their jobs and true team players, get beaten down and pushed out the door. TriNet has lost a lot of amazing talent to competitors because Leaders and HR will only fight for themselves and a selected few (their spouses also employed at TriNet, their good friends, or their hitmen that will do the dirty work for them with us nobodies on the front line). You take a day off, you’ll pay for it. Middle management were all so overwhelmed you had to fight for a minute of their time to actually manage you. It seemed like every day we were told a different way we were screwing over clients, but don’t worry, we’ll charge them more for a crappy product. Leadership sugarcoats everything to make it seem like it was in our favor. But we never saw any actual benefits.. people work towards promotions and then are told they aren’t available.. just to see people in other locations get promoted or hired in at a higher level. Your entry pay is good, but good luck seeing any raise after that. Even meeting metrics there is some bs reason why they aren’t given raises or given minimal raises (less than 0.50 an hr if you get one). But don’t worry, they will pay billions for events and marketing with celebrity talent.. not sure why, our client count didn’t see the benefits of that. The active clients didnt stay because of it.. I could go on and on. It was a mess, clients were dissatisfied majority of the time and employee morale is lower than I have ever seen in any place of employment.

Avantages

There is a path to success if you work really hard and are willing to stick it out for 3-5 years, but you must know how to play the corporate politics game and can't slip, have a little bit of luck, inherit profitable relationships, and prospect and develop new broker relationships. Benefits are good, and the director's I worked under were great people. If you're in your 20's, it's not a bad place to start your sales career and make decent money. Most deals only close if the benefits pricing is favorable, Always found the offsites and team outings fun.

Inconvénients

Highly political environment.   Highly commoditized product. A fair amount of favoritism.  The prospecting infrastructure is horrendous and limiting for even the best hunters. Splits are the devil and cause resentment amongst sales reps. If you're over 30 and looking to build a career here, would recommend you find a different PEO as there is a 90% turnover rate with first year reps and within 3 years most new hire classes are gone. About 10-20% of sales consultants find success, and the variance of new consultants who find success is in the low single digits.  TriNet isn't exactly well positioned in the market and hasn't been for a few years.   Bad blood with clients and prospects due to decisions made a few years ago for short term business gains. The executive directors and upper management come from a different time in the business.  They found success in a completely different way and completely different market that was more beneficial. They lead with a stick and that trickles down.
