Avantages

No pros. Maybe the training could be considered a positive point, depending on your eager to go through a 3-month training programme that makes you feel you're back to High School.

Inconvénients

Basically everything!!! I worked almost 4 months as Project Coordinator in the Retail department in Barcelona. The worst work experience ever. Some of the most horrible things about this job: - low salary, peanuts (21k per year), no bonus. - terrible team: the girls that survived there over the years are not helpful or nice people to work with. They push all their mediocre tasks (sending hundredes of mails manually to each translator every day) to you and bully and report to management if you focus on your deadlines first. - Poor management: the manager never gave any feedback, never present, never helpful. Only showed up to support the unprofessional behaviour of the girls, with sentences such as: "Don't mind X's behaviours cause she has a lot on her plate". As though excess of workload on someone's back justified petty nasty behaviour towards work colleagues! - Toxic work environment! - Repetitive manual taks, that only make you feel tired and overwhelmed. The most primitive task: sending work proposals to all translators by email, one by one, no automated system here and no automatio encouraged! Believe me, after 5 hours doing copy and paste and changing the name of the translator and some details of the message, you really feel stupid and diminished. There are a pletora of other manual tasks. - Quality control of the translations using their technology: I was flabbergasted by the low quality in the outcoming reports. Google Translate gives better results for free. Clients pay for this extra quality check, while the system was literally jeopardizing the quality several times with its wrong awful suggestions. And we are the ones making corrections. - The amount of internal systems, processes and bureaucracy for simple tasks: no automation, no process flow, no system integration, no user-friendly dashboards, every simple task takes time and patience. - The amount of "projects" to start and close per day / week. - The definition of project should not be used at this job. The company sells, proccess and closes orders here, no real project. It is always the same heavy amount of work for the same repetitive tasks in a fast-pace, that nobody can follow. Management and Account Managers are really nasty about deadlines, even though they are fully aware that selling huge translations to be delivered within a day (charging a fortune as extra) is not suitable and humanly feasible. - The treatment of team given to translation professionals: arguments about POs and payments, not clear about the payment details. And the scamming mentality of the team. Some of the "bright" girls of the retail department was proud of showing how much she can take in cents from every translation, from the translator's work, which would bring more profits in the long-term for the company. - Work cycle of the orders (not a project): painfully and manually registering and processing translation orders in the system. Imagine yourself in the warehouses of Amazon, processing, packing and closing orders, continuously, repeteadily. That's it, but in the translation world. - Arrogance of the team. Just toxic! Please, read all reviews about this company and position. I did and I was aware of it but decided to give a shot. I regretted it. I don't even have it in my CV for pure shame. It is really not worth your time, dedication, studies, qualification and honest work intentions. This job is simply afwul, ridiculous, painful and humiliating for your intelligence. Avoid!!

Avantages

Provides strong opportunities for travel, especially around conferences. The company makes a strong effort to onboard and support new employees and clients. There are many great colleagues to connect with and learn from.

Inconvénients

My experience was that leadership lacked clear direction and timely decision-making. The culture felt transactional, with employee retention and development taking a back seat to short-term financial performance.
