OK the BIG problem is that instead of management finding ways to improve production processes and procedures to increase productivity, the management wants to just people to work harder. Example - Your belt wrapping machine is not used on the shift before yours. The supervisor could have someone go to that machine and make sure it is set up so that the minute you walk in, you could wrap belts. But no, you have to make all the adjustments before you can wrap belts. Example - Instead of having the machines set up to wrap one belt all day long, you have to change belt sizes and adjust the machines each time... That slows down belt wrapping productivity. Example - If you have a wrapper wrap the same size belt all the time, then they will be faster at it..... Example - The management pushes people to wrap a certain number of belts.... but when the wrappers arrive on the job there are no belts to wrap so the wrappers have to wait on the belts... If they did not have to wait then the number of belts would be higher... Dopers and low life working in production..... People are mean too.
