Avantages
The Solution lab was a solid volunteering opportunity to learn firsthand how consulting works, and to learn how to think about science from a business perspective. While this initially can be challenging coming from an advanced degree science background, the projects and work provide a good introduction to how consults work and think. I enjoyed my project with the solution lab and hope to become involved now as an "alumni". Pro: Good to get hands-on consulting experience with real clients Good projects for reputable clients Short (~12 week) cycle allows for the work to fit in while completing a degree
Inconvénients
Working on a consulting project without prior experience can be challenging and can take some time to get up to speed. With the short projects this needs to happen quickly and can be a bit time consuming in the first weeks. Training is provided and there is project leadership but initially getting your feet under you can feel challenging.
