Avantages
I am an organization freak, and my co-workers get it. The majority of the staff is fabulous and fun to work with.We are a very diverse group, and there is an amazing array of skills and talents the staff brings to the table. There are no individual goals, and there is no commis sion. I believe that the company really does care about the welfare of its employees, but some of the management hires are questionable. The brass tacks, retail-lifer that knows what retail is about does not get the management job, but those with pretty resumes or district manager titles do. District managers do not know how to handle the day to day of running a store.
Inconvénients
The scheduling is ridiculous. There are constant problems with changes being made without informing staff, and rather incompetent managers. The scheduling is a disaster, and they are changes made after posting, leaving holes in the coverage on a regular basis. Some people rarely or never close, while others close 4 night out of 5. We sometimes open on weekends with no register staff on the schedule for the first two hours of the day. I have had to close with only one person beside myself more than once. Unpleasant workers are not weeded out, and the managers never, ever close the store.
