Avantages

The overall feel of Target is very young and fast-paced. It's not your typical corporation, because it's more rare than common to find someone over the age of 40. You also have good opportunity to move around and get promoted (until the economic slowdown) if you start at an exempt-level position. You immediately get ownership of large product categories with the understanding that it may take you a year to completely figure out your role. It's also a very social environment, so it's generally easy to meet people if you're from out of town. It's a great first job for someone right out of college.

Inconvénients

Target tries to be an advocate for work/life balance, but it's not necessarily the case depending on department and company pyramid. Specifically for the business analyst roll, Target tries to lump the entry-level exempt positions into one main core role. Each business analyst role is very different, though, and you don't get a full picture of each until you join the company. It can also be difficult to not feel like a number in a corporation at times due to the fluid movement of team members from position to position. You really have to make yourself stand out and be recognized in order for any major advancement. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, but be prepared to showcase yourself.
