Avantages
Td will hire pretty much anyone for a position
Inconvénients
While they will hire everyone, they will also compensate them the same (regardless of education etc) Part time tellers actually make more an hour then full timers. The answer to this was a two part one. The first was that speaking about others payments is against company policy and grounds for termination. The second answer is that you work more hours a week and thus make more money. Higher management makes bonus's more then multiple employee's put together . What is the answer if you want more compensation? Get a promotion. In the mean time live in poverty due to the difficult job market. While this works in TdBanks Advantage now, it will not in the future once more jobs become available. Td is also norotious for not giving promotions to people within branches, as well bringing in others from different banks. While training five of the branch managers at the meeting with me came from other locations. Meaning that they didn't know systems of internal employee's. I feel that employee's should always get priority for promotions. On top of this every branch has different sets of employee's. Certain stores don't have ASM's, some have weekend managers while others don't etc. Meaning a lower positions in one branch might accomidate a higher positions work without the compensation. Time- it its incredibly difficult to take not only personal time off, but sick time as well. To take off you need to get an ok from a supervisor With everyone on the staff working the hours can be tedious at times. When 1-2 people take off on vacation its hectic. You also have to work 7 days a week. If you work a Saturday or Sunday you will need to make up the hours during the week to make your full 40 hours. Often times you will have to work late on Thurs/Friday only to have to wake up the next day at 7. This ruins a lot of personal time you have. TD has also put a new time system into place which is fine. HOWEVER, due to getting into the branch etc, you will now often lose time on each of your paychecks. Especially due to dual control (meaning two employee's open/close) you can lose a lot of time. Finally TD has gotten rid of all but 4 national holidays. Your jewish you say? Put in PTO time for it. Oh 4th of July, too bad we're a Canadian bank. As far as the systems they are old, glitchy, hard to use and inefficient. If someone comes in from another area you must use a different ticket to avoid processing difficulties. If you have a cash difference you and the head teller must research the differences (while in the past back office would correct thus issues). If a non customer comes in with a non TD check, its managers discretion to cash it. If somone is negative/doesn't have enough to cover a check you must cash it. Payroll checks? Hold them against a social security and put it in immediately. These are terrible rules to follow, completely unsafe for the company. Unfortunatly we would rather lose money and blame employee's, then upset morons who can't handle there money correctly. The list can go on and on from here. Literally the tip of the iceberg. Tdbank is a great place to work IF IF IF IF IF you need a job. If you can get into another career I suggest doing so. Many employee's use this place as a stepping zone. Duties
