      Avantages

      I was involved in a great project at a major US government institution in Washington, DC. That was fun and challenging. The technology is cutting edge. I learned a lot. I was also managing a project of this size for the first time which was fun. I liked the people I worked with.

      Inconvénients

      Communication between upper management and me was absent. I was completely blind-sided by my firing. I was also told while I was on vacation in Europe. I thought that was rather tasteless. Furthermore, I am still waiting for some of my expenses to be paid.

      Avantages

      Managers are open to new ideas, minimal micromanaging. Exciting environment with great new technology. Different every day, never boring. Benefits are good with 401k match, affordable insurance and fairly generous PTO.

      Inconvénients

      Pay could be better, but that's more the industry than the company.

      Avantages

      worked for solid state logic in the video division a few year ago. the broadcast video market was shrinking, and we had plenty of cool technology, but lack of strategy ultimately doomed the division.

      Inconvénients

      towards the end, money got tight, and layoffs ensued. Only con would be that there were no opportunity to move to different division, and certain aspects of the company could have been handled more professionally.
