Avantages
It is a real sales job, so if you can deal with the extremely high standards of multitasking: ie detailing, cleaning, bed maintainence, auditing and membership and product knowledge; it does look good on your resume.
You have the opportunity to network yourself to clients when you build your rapport- so if sales isn't quite for you, there may be someone who can hook you up elsewhere, but don't count on it.
Inconvénients
A good amount of fines are delegated in this company! They take it out of you commissions, normally 5 bucks for a mistake. When all is said and done, even in busy season, you can make about 4% of what you bring in the company.
A lot is expected of you for a very minimal payment. Management and the owner are both sales pros and know how to pay very little for their high expectations, but make it seem as though all is fair. The smart ones realize this and leave- creating an extremely high turnover rate. Membership sales need to be explained carefully- there are tons of customer service issues with the way it's explained.
Overall it feels like a labor camp sometimes. There are days at some locations where you don't have a chance to eat and you don't ever really stop moving for long hours. You are expected to have a checklist complete by the end of the night- sometimes you will be at the store for and hour or more.
