Avantages

I just started about a month ago and have found the company to have an incredibly welcoming environment, flexible schedule, and open communication. My team has been wonderful and helpful during the onboarding process!

Inconvénients

With less than a month of experience at the company, I haven't ran into any cons yet.

Avantages

I always had something to work on. I learned a ton about AI and by writing programs that actually used both. I gained exposure to how a software team operates. The other employees were welcoming and kind. Being in NYC is a fun experience.

Inconvénients

The NY office is small, with only a few employees in every day.

Avantages

Exposure to market research work

Inconvénients

The workload at this organization is completely overwhelming, unsustainable, and poorly managed, inevitably leading to severe employee burnout. Senior leadership is entirely disconnected from operational realities, demonstrating a profound lack of empathy, support, or advocacy for the teams executing the core work. Most critically, Human Resources is the worst department within the organization. Rather than supporting employees, HR operates with a ruthless, hostile, and aggressive mentality. The company suffers from an incredibly high turnover rate due to frequent, abrupt terminations, creating a pervasive atmosphere of anxiety, instability and fear rather than psychological safety. The overall workplace environment possesses a profoundly negative energy that systematically drains morale and severely impacts mental well-being. Due to this deeply toxic culture, the organization is fundamentally incapable of retaining top talent and dedicated professionals.

Thank you for taking the time to share your perspective. While I am sorry to hear that your experience did not align with what you were looking for, we also feel it is important to provide some broader context. Shapiro Raj operates in a fast-paced, evolving industry that requires agility, adaptability, and a high level of commitment from our team. The pace can be demanding, and we recognize that our environment may not be the right fit for everyone. At the same time, that pace, ambition, and commitment to excellence are also what have allowed us to continue growing, serving our clients at a high level, and remaining resilient through significant industry, economic, and global challenges. We also want to be clear that we take comments about culture, workload, leadership, and employee support seriously. We have invested heavily in our People function, which we view not simply as “HR,” but as a core capability of the company. Our goal is to support our team members, create clear communication channels, and ensure that concerns can be raised through multiple avenues, including People, direct managers, senior leaders, and executive leadership. We do not believe the characterization of our People team or leadership reflects the organization we are working hard to build every day. We also want to clarify that the company has not had any involuntary terminations in over nine months, and we remain committed to thoughtful, fair, and respectful people practices. That said, we understand that not every employee experience is the same, and we are always open to feedback that helps us improve. We will continue to focus on maintaining a strong, supportive, high-performing culture where people can do meaningful work, grow in their careers, and contribute to the future of our industry. We wish you the best in your future endeavors.
