Avantages

A good employer. Generous pay rises. Interesting work. Good value canteen. Trusted well by most superiors. Scope to do well in your role. Helpful colleagues to work with. Best company that I have ever worked for.

Inconvénients

Keep on having reorganizations every few months. If something is blatantly not working, that is fine. When they tell you though that everyone is doing well and making them money and they then announce yet another reorganization (which if it means making people redundant, tough) it makes you wonder if it is worth doing well. I have done some temporary jobs with more of a permanent feel.

Avantages

Work–life balance is actually respected. Most managers honor boundaries, don’t expect late-night firefighting as the norm, and are fine with you taking time off when you need it. Solid parental leave. The parental leave policy is extremely generous compared to a lot of places in the industry, and leadership is generally supportive of people actually using it. Interesting, challenging work. Plenty of chances to solve real problems, not just busywork. If you’re proactive, you can own projects and grow your skill set. Good benefits package. Healthcare, 401(k), and time off are competitive, and HR does a decent job of making the options clear. Smart coworkers who care. A lot of sharp people who genuinely want to do the right thing for customers and the business, which makes collaboration worthwhile when it works.

Inconvénients

Communication needs improvement. Priorities and decisions don’t always flow clearly from leadership to the teams doing the work, which leads to confusion and rework. Too many silos. Teams tend to operate in their own lane, and cross-functional collaboration can be painful. Information gets stuck instead of shared.
