Avantages

Remote work is very nice, even if the culture is nonexistent. Management is fairly chill, though lately I get the feeling that they are being pressured to micromanage more as of late. Even so, it's still fairly relaxed. It's easy to stand out, and I feel like my efforts are appreciated. Other teams are usually happy to help when you need something from them. Work-life balance isn't as great for me as it is for most reviewers, but it's still far from being bad. Technology isn't the greatest overall, but even the worst of it isn't that bad.

Inconvénients

Compensation. The program that replaces RSUs is sub-optimal, since it requires a one-time lump-sum investment. Otherwise, bonuses are getting slashed, and yearly promotions (at least in my org) are being shelved for now. Horrible lack of transparency about what is happening within the company now that they're private. We were promised no layoffs, and then layoffs and cuts happened because we didn't quite meet "ambitious" revenue goals amidst an economic downturn. Additionally, the average employee has no idea what the dollar amount of these revenue goals was. Many employees get away with doing next to 0 work. (Could be a pro, depending on the type of person you are.) Some layoffs were justified or understandable, but some made absolutely no sense. Many people in middle/upper management have surprisingly awful people skills. However, the CEO is an exception to this rule and is genuinely very charismatic.

Avantages

Collaborative environment, fair compensation and possibility of increase through shares awards, leadership that really tries to involve you with what you like doing - in my time here I never felt like a number, they genuinely care. Affinity groups give you the opportunity to meet people from many areas of the company. Pool of very qualified resources make staffing and overseeing projects easier. Product keeps advancing, so it never gets boring, there is always something new to learn. Good work life balance - heavier workload when projects going live or end of quarters, but lower in between.

Inconvénients

Mostly remote teams - easy to stay isolated, very rare opportunities to bring the team to in person gatherings.

Avantages

I joined SailPoint within the last year, and couldn't be happier with my decision. There are a couple of culture ideals that many companies talk about, but SailPoint makes a core practice. First, they push decision making down to the lowest level. Within just a few weeks, I was making significant decisions about the direction of my products with full support of my manager. Second, SailPoint has a rule, "No talented jerks." Employees that are good at their jobs, but treat coworkers poorly are let go. This has created one of the most respectful, cooperative, and teamwork focused cultures I've ever encountered. Add in working remote full-time and unlimited PTO, and it's hard to think of any downsides.

Inconvénients

If you are not in the Austin area, and are not very comfortable with remote work, you might struggle since most of the company is remote, and you might only have face-to-face in-person time with your team a couple times a year.
