When I first joined, it was genuinely a great place to work. The staff were the best part — supportive, collaborative, and doing their best despite everything happening around them.
Inconvénients
Annual redundancies became routine, creating a culture of fear and instability. The senior leadership team was completely out of its depth. Its like an old boys’ network rather than a group capable of leading a modern organisation. The pay structure was chaotic. Some individuals earned £70–90k while contributing very little, while others with far more responsibility were paid significantly less. Anyone who was both good at their job and fairly compensated eventually found themselves on the redundancy list. There was constant pressure to work well beyond contracted hours with no additional pay, recognition, or reward — even when objectives were met. Managers routinely ignored the career framework. People did everything required to progress, but managers showed no interest in supporting development or motivation. A huge amount of knowledge left the company and none of it was replaced. Employees were treated like numbers, not people.
