Avantages

Here you'll find a dedicated teaching staff, very competitive salaries and benefits, and a beautiful facility. The students are not exceptional, but are exceptionally hard-working

Inconvénients

The school is ruled with an iron fist by the Headmaster and his wife. There is no formal evaluation or reporting structure, there is no accountability at the top, there is no way to advance via performance, there is no delegation or trust. All decisions come from two people - from sports to Admissions to literature to marketing - all from the top.

Avantages

-very smart colleagues -kids are very driven academically - involved parent community -financially sound and secure

Inconvénients

-facilities are falling apart. Parts of the Pinkham building experience floods and leaks to the point where classrooms and office spaces have to be evacuated. Where does all of the tuition go? -many changes in administrative leadership over the past several years. There have been 4 heads of middle school and 4 heads of upper school in over the past ten years. This results in no fixed vision or growth for the school and feeling a sense of whiplash with new initiatives that do not see follow through. Head of US surprisingly resigned over the summer. -High faculty turnover over the past five years leaving faculty that are still there disappointed. Some have left due to a lack of leadership development opportunities, leaving them feeling stuck in their roles at the school. -HoS seems disconnected from the employees. Take the time to get to know the folks who make the school such a great place. He doesn't seem to be carrying the torch on leading new initiatives. Taking a backseat approach compared to the previous head. - RCDS has no true identity of its own. -very little diversity in administrative leadership -no tuition remission for your children to attend despite being in a great financial position -compensation and stipends for some roles could be better
