Avantages

Job security is good Relatively slow pace of life

Inconvénients

Making military Rocket Motors you'd expect the company to be at the cutting edge of modern manufacturing practices and techniques with water tight systems and procedures....but you'd be wrong. The mindset of the production side of the business is stuck in the 1970's with a man in a shed mentality. The design side is some what better but when it comes to actually making some of the products that they have designed is where it all comes apart. Often the designs are beyond the capability of the manufacturing process and hence the yield rate is low....right first time is not a concept that is understood at Roxel. Indeed, rework is actually built into most of the processes as its expected that rework will be required for the product straight off process. Change is not something Roxel embrace well...stuck in their ways is probably the best way to describe it. This is partly due to so many people there having only ever worked there, which is a strength but a massive weakness as well. Some do actually believe it is a world class manufacturing facility, but then again its those people who have nothing to compare it against as they have spent their whole working life there. They aspire to employ some of the best people, but then only pay Kidderminster wages and wonder why people are now leaving at prob the greatest rate they have ever seen. Production operators on on just over minimum wage, and they are now starting to see significant turnover of staff, both not only shop floor, but also from the general offices and also worryingly engineers. All this whilst working with products that will kill you if something goes wrong, it no wonder people are leaving

Avantages

Sick pay. OK if you're just waiting to retire. Day shift

Inconvénients

Managers only look after their friends. Do not expect to be treated fairly. bullying is rife from long term employees, but managers won't sort them out due to lack of skilled workers. HR totally clueless. extremely poor training. Restrictions are ridiculous and contradicting. Health & safety is border line criminal. Office staff vs shop floor divide is huge. Very out dated processes, tools/ machinery. Poor pay for what you are producing. Skill point pay system doesn't work. One of the worst Jobs I've ever had. Extremely toxic atmosphere! Avoid ! !
