Avantages

Able to negotiate high UDA values compared to other corporate companies. Once completed associate UDAs pro rata, locum positions available within the company to continue earning. Opportunity for FD trainer development within the company. CPD encouraged and arranged for you at discount price. Ability to network with other clinicians and nurses. Provides a sound foundation for NHS dentistry which is great for newly qualified dentists looking to gain experience and earn money following university.

Inconvénients

Ethical and clinical standards compromised due to financial gain. No innovative ways of delivering patient care especially in a technology driven modern dentistry. Definition of “Nash Bash”. Lure you into a false sense of job satisfaction with a good UDA value and target but then overwork you until you are physically and mentally burnt out. Will take advantage of younger dentists and deceive you into a low UDA value initially but be prepared to negotiate back. Questionable material and stock selection which leads to compromise in clinical work. Poor turnaround time for issues within practices to be dealt with. Nurses are moved around or sent out of practice which is out of their control. High staff turnaround and inability to hire stable practice managers. Treated as a “hamster in a wheel” to perform as many UDAs as possible with little bonus or reward. Claim to help improve private income potential yet overload you with high UDAs target and therefore expect you to make time to fit in private treatments.

As dentists are self-employed they are able to decide how much work they do over a year and we feel that we provide additional support to younger dentists with our educational scheme, clinical and mentoring support and varied CPD program so that they do understand that dentistry is an excellent lifelong career choice with many opportunities. If at any time you felt you were unable to manage your contract or targets, we would have been more than happy to support you'.
