Avantages
So far my experience at Rocket has been a very positive one. The people I have worked with have been great, there are a variety of interesting business domains to work in, and there is opportunity to learn about and work with AI which is a critical area to be gaining experience in to stay current as an engineer. The salary and benefits are fairly competitive, the work hours are reasonable (40-50/wk), and there is definitely opportunity for career growth if you have the skills, experience, work ethic, and ambition.
Inconvénients
The technology organization is reorganized on a fairly regularly basis, which isn’t inherently negative, but it does mean you have to be comfortable with change - new leaders, new team mates, new business domain, etc. Personally I like the occasional change of scenery. It’s an enterprise software engineering role so there’s going to be more processes and red tape than you might find at a smaller company or startup, but much less than I’ve seen at other enterprise companies.
