Inconvénients
Bureaucracy is the biggest problem, management seems to be so incompetent and corrupt that they simply smile why everything falls apart. The pay is terrible, not to mention getting a raise and properly negotiating is not in this companies view. I made 10$ an hour while higher management did way less work and got salary. Scheduling is also out of control, and good luck getting a break or getting time off if you have a medical issue that you need to take care of. One of the biggest problems with these corporate systems comes down to the problem of useless management. These people arent interested in letting you advance unless you become their sycophant, they want their salaries to be secure while lower employees do the bulk of the work. District managers are the worst, these people come in throw a hissy fit, make a scene in front of customers and destabilize the store. Each location is different and part of a community, I worked at that my store so I could be involved with people I knew. Many of my customers were my neighbors, so when the DM came in they would walk off then come up to me afterwards and laugh at how idealistic they were. Management doesn't even seem to care about the customers, they started this terrible rewards program that no elderly person had a chance at. They smile through their teeth while the customers are dissatisfied, but if they get one phone call from an unhappy customer no matter how absurd their claims they just fire the employee to please the person. They throw anyone and everyone under the bus to avoid any personal responsibility. Ive had a women say the most racist hateful things but I was not allowed to refuse a transaction then she called in trying to get me fired because I didnt let her get to me. Luckily the higher management was behind the corner and herd everything so I got a pass but I was still written up! These people simply want you to take abuse for their failings. Many people just refuse to participate in these rewards programs and donations but if you dont ask in front of your managers you are in trouble( even if you asked the same person 5 times) These people have divorced themselves and their employees from their customers. Many rite aids at least where I live are part of tight communities so many people just refuse to come in. The workload is so heavy that you cannot properly do it all and attend to others, the managers carp at everything making it an uncomfortable enviroment, and the company shows no loyalty to any of their employees. Their company computer systems are terrible, ccorrupt and regularly fail making it impossible for you to do your job. Their servers go down, their photo computers fail. I would never reccomend anyone work for rite aid.
