It's common sense to let people know what you are planning to do and the rationale behind that action if you want to get them on board - You can opt to stay out of the drama but don't be surprised if you end up being the gossip fodder for others. It's weird, you can try to work your best but it's pointless when the rumour mill starts churning. Justifying is seen as excuse-making so tread with care.
