3yThank you for providing a detailed review of what it was like to work at Labor First. We appreciate the feedback since it helps us understand more about the employee experience. We put a lot of effort into making our company an awesome place to work and building a great culture. One of the areas you commented on that’s really important to us as a smaller, growing organization is our opportunities for advancement. We take pride in the fact that we have developed many employees over the years and despite our size, we promote individuals based on hard work, contributions and career goals.
We also appreciate your constructive feedback. We recognize our business is very cyclical and our busy season is just that – very busy. In our off season, however, we have decided to approve a hybrid work schedule, which includes 3 days in the office and 2 days at home to provide more flexibility to our account management team. Regarding compensation, we’re a service company and to provide the best service possible to our members, we need to hire the best people which is why we pay generous, market rates and have a very rich benefits package. We are consistently reviewing our compensation to ensure we’re paying the right market rates for the important work performed. While on the surface we look like a call center, our Advocates and account management team take a lot of pride in the purpose-driven work we do to support our retiree members. We are problem solvers offering a concierge service and often times, calls may be longer and we may need to circle back with members to help them navigate challenging healthcare issues. That’s what we do and we do what it takes to provide that level of service, which is why we have 100% client retention.
Regarding consistency, we strive for consistency among everyone on perks and things like working from home, but we also recognize that different departments and roles have different needs. It’s not possible to have children in an environment where people are on the phone when that’s the core of our service business. However, feedback noted and again, hearing from you and others helps us to do better. We appreciate your comments and wish you the very best of luck in your career endeavors.
