- Have you noticed that a lot of the positive reviews were made around January 5th, 2022? That's because the company got employees to write them. - Senior management are liars and they think that people are stupid enough to believe them. They've no problem in lying to your face, promising the world, but when the time to collect comes, it's all lies as to why they can't give you what they promised. They refuse to put said promises in writing so at that stage, it's just time to leave. - With the above point in mind, even if you do have something in written, they will do their level best to get out of it. You've a bonus written in your contract? Well, you need to get this performance review done, even though you had one two months ago/we're waiting for new round of funding/etc. It took me 6 months of constant chasing to get it. - They're replacing senior level engineers with juniors. This is not necessarily a bad thing, if you still have seniors there to train the juniors, but they're not doing that. The proverbial will hit the fan soon and there won't be anyone there that knows how to fix it. - Depending on your team lead, there can be little to no guidance. Ours cancelled our daily stand ups a couple of weeks before I left and the general feeling in the team was that we were on our own. - They are very happy to work everyone to the bone. Constant requests over 3 years for even just one additional engineer were refused. The existing engineers were expected to pick up the slack. - Promotions are almost non-existent. I didn't see a single promotion in my time there. I was offered a team lead role but I was expected to do it without my salary being increased. My salary was already low for a DevOps engineer, to have it lower again in comparison for a team lead role was insult to injury. - While there is working from home, I understand that new hires are expected to be in the office every day. There seems to be a push from the current CEO to get people back into the office, for some strange reason. - Working remotely from overseas was a possibility here, until the new CEO came in and made up a nonsense reason to renege on promises to multiple highly talented, senior people. This has cost the company decades of experience and shown how little faith can be put in them. This affected me too and I was told by my team lead to find work elsewhere. I was contacted on LinkedIn after this by the CEO as to why I was "open to work". Mate, it was because of you and you know it.
