Avantages
Renaissance has had the same basic mission (plus or minus a few words) for 30 YEARS: “To accelerate learning for all children and adults of all ability levels and ethnic and social backgrounds, worldwide", and they mean it. You FEEL this mission, this purpose, in every decision that is made from every level and department. They make serious tools for professional educators and focus on research and results. Customer service is a central corporate point of pride, and doing what is right for teachers, schools and districts is paramount. The professional development I am offered is, frankly, the best I have had in more than 25 years in K12 EdTech. I am kept not only up-to-date on all Renaissance products as would be expected, but Renaissance goes much deeper than product knowledge- they dive into research, pedagogy and trends in K12 so that all team members can offer more to our clients than brochures and specifications. Renaissance hires some of the finest academic minds in the world, and you get to work with them and learn from them. Big thinkers. Experienced Educators. Published Researchers and Psychometricians. I am always learning and growing from every team member. Renaissance works very hard to keep employees connected and keep improving the corporate culture. There are many tools provided to make sure that knowledge is shared effectively and efficiently, and voices are heard. Along with tools, the culture encourages networking and communication; don’t worry, if you are not sure about something, there is a whole list of people ready to help. It has been wonderful to watch my friends and colleagues work hard, grow and move into new and challenging roles and positions within Renaissance- they do a wonderful job of cultivating talent (not just finding it, which they also excel at). I am treated with respect and feel there is plenty of potential for me; you are about what talents you bring to the team, not your demographic!
Inconvénients
As with any organization, there are always people and decisions that you are not going to agree with. The only problems I have experienced are the typical day-to-day you would expect at any organization.
