Great 401k match and profit sharing program Great people to work with, family like atmosphere Happy Hour Thursdays, tuition reimbursement Company does really care about who you are as a person, in addition everyones door is always open for discussion(if youre comfortable doing so is another question) In my role and working in a smaller company like RDM you feel your work directly influences the success of the company, which is alot different than working for a larger company where your work sometimes doesnt see the light of day.

Inconvénients

In my time working at RDM, one thing became apparent. Upper management rules everything. What is currently being promoted is an collaborative atmosphere but alot of the actual decision making power isn't in the hands of those 'hired' to make those decisions. Working in software, RDM was once an industry leader in CRETECH but due to poor decisions and investments from upper management have led to RDM falling way behind its competitors in the industry. With no set leadership or hierarchy in software alot of the hiring and firing decisions comes down to those at the top, both of whom are no way 'technical' in nature. Also ALOT of times things(promotions/incentive bonuses) will promise something to you and it will take multiple reminders and stern conversations for him to actually deliver. People want to be paid what they are worth today, not what you think they should get based on the work you expect them to do(as you would for an investment). Alot of people are underpaid and overworked and its sad because in talking to the team, its all the same story. Also the company doesnt pay its vendors on a timely basis, ive personally have had to vouch for vendors ive worked with on the job because of fear of burning bridges with critical resources(this has happened on countless occasions)

I came across these negative reviews and had to say something because it is not all true! I'm offended because I work here and like my job and feel like it's a good choice for me. A lot of people here have worked here for over 5 years - some way more. People wouldn't stay here this long if it was such a horrible place to work! Is this place perfect? Not at all, but I see that everyone here tries to fix problems that come up. The vibe in the office is welcoming and fun. The company does a lot of fun activities for the staff - and most of the time it's during office hours and not mandatory. The work can be hard and stressful at times, but I don't see people working super late or on the weekends. There is extra compensation for when that does happen. Plus we have a ton of free snacks, coffee, tea, seltzer - keeping people fed is important! The work is interesting, I've gotten to see a lot of NYC architecture "behind the scenes".

Inconvénients

The staffing seems a little uneven and too lean in some areas. I'd like to see the teams get bigger so the career growth is more visible. I have to agree that the office is dated. It's not dirty like someone suggested, but we have mis-matched furniture and it's pretty crowded. There has been some effort to get new furniture in some areas.

Thank you for your feedback! While the negative feedback seems to get the most attention because we strive to always do better, I am always happy to hear about the positives at Real Data Management. The camaraderie that you enjoy and the fun activities we provide are so important to our company culture. I agree that the staffing can seem uneven- in some places it truly is too lean and the leadership team feels the pressure to recruit and find good fits. We recently formed a small committee of employees to help bring in fresh ideas, but we're open to suggestions from anyone. Our office is getting a lot of heat on here! Ha. It's true that we don't have the sleekest office in Manhattan, but that could change someday in the not-too-distant future. For now we're trying to make the best of what we have without being frivolous. Thank you for your feedback, my door is always open for more conversation. - Peter Boritz, CEO, RDM
